Throughout the creation of this unit I was exposed to new concepts concerning teaching and curriculum planning. I have gained new tools to help me assess my lessons and determine if it will meet the needs of my students. I gained new insight into how to assure myself, my students, and my fellow educators that the lessons being taught in my classroom have real world connections, big ideas, and are crucial to my students' education in and out of the classroom. This unit is just the beginning of my learning of curriculum building.
